The Education Foundation of Bloomington requests applications for 2012-13 Education Innovation Grants to fund innovative educational curriculum material or equipment in classrooms and programs of the Bloomington School District. Education Innovation Grants are funded through various fundraising efforts of the Education Foundation of Bloomington.

The Education Foundation of Bloomington welcomes applicants for Senior Scholarships. Students at Thomas Jefferson High School and John F. Kennedy High School who will graduate in the Class of 2012 are eligible for consideration. Applications are available online or from high school counselors. Completed applications are due by 3 p.m., Friday, March 2.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence, community service, school involvement or financial need. The Patrick Porter Scholarship will be awarded to high-potential students who plan to attend a two-year college or technical school but lack the financial support.
Scholarship Fund donors include Bloomington PTSA Council, Bloomington Federation of Teachers, Bloomington Retired Educators Assn., Bloomington School Food Service Assn., Donaldson Company, Inc., Gregory J. Lampe Memorial Scholarship, Mall of America, Patrick Porter, Dorothy Ziebell and the Education Foundation of Bloomington Board of Directors.

Nominations now are open for the Education Foundation of Bloomington’s Prodigy Awards. The annual awards recognize teams of Bloomington School District staff who successfully organize their members, set goals to improve their results and measure their achievements. The 2012 Prodigy Awards will recognize seven employee teams in the Bloomington Public Schools for excellence in teamwork in two categories:

Recipients of the seven Prodigy Team Awards will be honored at the beginning of the 2012-13 school year for their excellent teamwork in teaching or educational support in the 2011-12 school year.
